Scotland's Maggie wall

the witch

whilst travelling from dunning to Gleneagles on a side road at the

northern foot of the Ochil Hills, there is a simple monument

to Maggie wall.

the fresh white paint on this pile of stones reads

 "Maggie wall burnt here 1657 as a witch".

i know nothing of the events that led to her demise but her monument is well

maintained.

apparently repainted by an unknown person or persons, no one seems to know

who does it. but they keep her name living on.

whilst her persecutors are forgotten.

may she rest in the light of the god and goddess forever at peace.
